Olivia smiled and twirled and kicked and danced as per all the routines that she and the rest of the cheerleaders had practiced for big games such as these. Olivia will admit to herself that she was getting a bit bored with the same routines over and over, but the captain said she would plan out different routines over the winter break. Olivia couldn't wait.
"Hey, hey, we got game!" she chanted along with the other cheerleaders. "We Mountain Hawks you can't tame!"
God, she was cold. Sure, they were wearing leggings under their cheering skirts, but dancing around with pompoms in October could still be a little chilly. Olivia was not looking forward to supporting games in December.
The cheerleaders took a break as the football team began their next play, and Olivia watched how nicely the boys looked in their tight-ass football pants. She winced while taking a swig of her water bottle as Adam sacked someone on the opposing team. He may not say much, but Adam was a solid, good-looking guy who rocked the football field.
Her gaze turned around and looked to see who was on the stands, wondering if she could see any more familiar faces.
DATE Wed. October 11, 2023
WORDS 202
TAGS Open to everyone who wants to share a little school spirit and/or trouble!
NOTES Isaac and Adam are playing football, but feel free to reference Clarissa, who is also a cheerleader, and/or Eddie, who can be watching from the stands.

Tag: Open for everyone! Words: 220 "Woo, go Mountain Hawks!" Willow waved a little flag with the school's logo embroidered on it, and Roy ducked when the flag got a little too close to his head. He gently redirected the enthusiastic girl's arm to wave it in another direction and sat back in his seat.
Willow grinned sheepishly at him and asked, "Did we get a home run or goal or whatever it is in football?"
"Why are you here if don't know anything about the sport?" Roy asked, his tone amused. He did, however, nod in response to her question and pointed toward the panel that was keeping score.
The girl shrugged. "Figured I'll be here for our team," she said. "Besides, I wouldn't be doing anything else tonight." She elbowed Roy in the ribs. "What about you?"
He wasn't entirely sure himself. He knew a couple of the football players by happenstance and classes. Roy's gaze drifted toward the cheerleaders, realizing he knew a few of them as well. He gave Olivia a small wave when she seemed to look around the stands.
"I guess I'm here because of the same reason as you," he said to Willow as he leaned back in his seat. "Got nothing better to do on a Wednesday night, and it seems a few of us are out tonight..."

I got this feelin' inside my bones it goes electric, wavy when I turn it on can't stop the feeling -- justin timberlake words: 230 notes: nada "Hey, we winning?" Eddie had arrived to the football game, a bit late, but at least he made it for most of the game. He had appeared on the other side of Willow with a tray of nachos from the concession stand, and he wordlessly offered some of the food to his friends as he watched the good-looking football players and gorgeous cheerleaders do their thing.
One of the darker-haired cheerleaders waved to someone in the stands before returning to her team, and Eddie followed her line of sight to spy Roy returning the wave. Huh. Eddie didn't realize that Roy personally knew one of the cheerleaders. Eddie enjoyed some of the football player eye-candy before joining in a cheer when the Mountain Hawks scored.
Eddie did try to hide a yawn as he settled down on the bench. He had been in contact with Seer for the past couple of nights, trying to hash out a date and time to meet, and Seer only seemed to like communicating late in the night. Eddie hoped that they could meet sooner rather than later, not only to ease his anxiety over the idea but also so he could start catching up on sleep.
"They're looking pretty good, huh?" Eddie commented, gesturing to the football team. "I heard the coach is hoping that Bayville can win the championship this year with sports."

"They're having a huddle."
"To discuss what they're going to do next?"
"That's right."
"Why?" Willow looked baffled at this idea. "You basically just have to get the ball to the goal post, right? Shouldn't the plan just be run really fast if you have the ball?"
Roy took a deep breath, trying to be patient with Willow as he used to be with younger kids at the orphanage asking about his funny hair color. "The other team is going to do their best to do just the same. They need strategies in order to keep the ball on their side."
"Oh." Willow was looking around the stands, apparently unimpressed. "Hey, here comes Eddie!"
Roy glanced over to Willow's other side, smiling a greeting to Eddie when he joined them, and snagged one a nacho when his friend offered the food. Roy did, however, frown when Eddie tried to hide a yawn.
"Tired?" Roy asked mildly. He had noticed that Eddie had been glued to his phone a little more often than not the past few nights when the pair went to bed.

Mason honestly wasn't sure if he had wanted to go to the football game.
Okay, that was a lie. He did want to go to the football game, if only to hang out with his friends, but he was completely conscious of the fact that it was starting to get colder out. It was still only October, so Mason should be fine, but... Well, he was more used to Florida Octobers than Octobers in the New England region.
Ultimately, he decided to take the chance, knowing that his friends would do their best to not let anything happen to him. Mason trusted them wholeheartedly, and fully ignored how he probably looked a bit overdressed with his scarf and gloves as if he were preparing for snow.
"Mind if I join you guys?" Mason asked, finding his friends in the stands and taking a seat on Roy's other side. He exchanged grins with them and looked at the scoreboard to see how the Mountain Hawks were doing.
He also got there in time to hear Roy ask Eddie if he was tired, and Mason glanced at Eddie with a raised eyebrow.

nothin' I can see but you when you dance, dance, dance can't stop the feeling -- justin timberlake words: 177 notes: nada Eddie did want to just enjoy the game with his friends, but he did glance unimpressed at Roy -- and then Mason -- when his roommate asked him mildly if he was tired.
Guess Eddie didn't quite hide his yawn from his friends.
"I'm fine," Eddie said briskly, being sure to continue passing the nachos around. He was sure at least Willow would appreciate the food.
Eddie did look up at Mason and asked, "How are you doing?" while pointedly looking at the scarf and gloves. Eddie himself was wearing his jacket, but it wasn't nearly cold enough to warrant much else unless one's physiology resembled a reptile like in Mason's case.
The football team seemed to be going again, an excited roar of approval echoing throughout the stands, and Eddie figured he just missed the Mountain Hawks score a touchdown. The cheerleaders were twirling again, their pom-poms shaking, and Eddie noticed the one that Roy had waved to look back over at his friend when their cheer was done.
Eddie would definitely be teasing Roy about her later.

Tag: Foxtrot/ Mist, IncognitoWords: 196 Roy didn't really get the chance to comment further on Eddie's dismissive response to his question -- not that Roy could say anything else, there'd be no point in continuing that line of question -- since Willow cheerfully thanked Eddie for the snack and Mason joined their little group.
Eddie took the chance to ask Mason, looking as if he'd be impossibly warm for the autumn weather, if he was alright and Roy waited to hear their other friend's response. Maybe Roy would pop back to the concession stand to get everyone hot chocolate or something.
Mostly everyone. He was fairly sure Willow would wrinkle her nose at the so-called fake hot chocolate, even if she'd be too polite to say anything about it aloud.
Speaking of Willow, she nudged Roy and said, "Your cheerleader friend is looking back at you."
"I see her," he said casually, giving Olivia a smile and hoping that she could see it from where he was sitting.
Roy did sputter when Willow said, "Eddie, Mason, maybe we can go and do something after the game together, since Roy may be with his girlfriend?"
"She's a friend, Willow," Roy said, rubbing his temple.

Eddie was definitely doing something that made him so tired, but Mason wouldn't bother him about it now. It was just strange as hell to see someone who usually had so much energy like Eddie be a little more subdued at the moment.
Granted, Mason was kind of like that when the cold weather started. To his own friends' questions, Mason nodded and said, "Yeah, I'm good. I'll let you guys know if I need to take off early for whatever reason."
The reason being he was about to fall asleep from feeling chilly, but he was guessing that he'd be okay with this October air.
He then couldn't quite hide his laughter when Willow very bluntly asked Eddie and him about making plans later since Roy may be with his so-called girlfriend.
As a response, Mason said, "I'm always down to hang out with you guys. That cheerleader is Olivia, though, so if she wants to hang out with us too so Roy can get to know her better, that's cool. She's in my world history class." To Roy, Mason waggled his eyebrows and added, "She is a very pretty girl."

and ain't nobody leavin' soon so keep dancin' can't stop the feeling -- justin timberlake words: 172 notes: nada Good. Focus more on whether or not Mason was fine with the cold. Eddie was glad the topic turned from his apparent tiredness to Mason's reaction to the chill in the air. Regardless, he was glad that Mason seemed okay with the weather. Considering Mason's height, Eddie really wasn't sure how the rest of them would get him home if he ended up trying to hibernate.
When Willow mentioned the few of them making plans while Roy hung out with his cheerleader friend, Eddie burst out laughing at her wording. Eddie echoed Mason's response, saying, "I'm good to do anything with you guys," and he listened as Mason actually revealed that he knew the cheerleader that had waved to Roy. Eddie silently agreed that Olivia was, indeed, pretty. "We definitely could invite Olivia, if she's not too tired from after the football game. Or maybe Roy would like to take her out on his own..."
His words were accompanied by a teasing grin, and he reached around Willow to nudge Roy's shoulder.

Tag: Foxtrot/ Mist, IncognitoWords: 207 Willow had giggled when Roy didn't seem amused at her comment to their friends. She was glad when both Eddie and Mason took her comment in stride, agreeing that they would always be ready to hang out, but also teasing Roy just a bit about his pretty cheerleader friend. Mason apparently also knew her, giving them the cheerleader's name, from sharing a class with her. He didn't really give any other information, other than waggle his eyebrows at Roy before Eddie also took a turn to nudge Roy about Olivia.
Roy's face was slowly turning red and, without any real bite to his tone, said, "I hate you all. I'm going to the concessions stand," before up and abandoning the rest of them.
"Get me some popcorn?" Willow cheekily requested, and he gave her a vague, backwards wave. She watched as he went to the concession stand, noting that it was fairly close to where the cheerleaders themselves were situated, before turning back to Eddie and Mason. "If you guys really want to do something after the football game, I'm good to make plans. Otherwise, we can put a pin in that, especially since one of you doesn't like the cold and the other seems really tired."

Mason couldn't quite hide his smile when the three of them seemed to take a turn to tease Roy, and Mason didn't hinder his friend in the slightest when Roy decided to go to the concessions stand to get away from them. Mason patted Roy's shoulder as he passed by, a wayward apology, but Mason did take the opportunity to scoot down a little closer to Willow and Eddie.
"We should stop teasing poor Roy," Mason said, his tone casual with just a hint of admonishment.
Willow mentioned actually making plans for after the football game, but acknowledged that Mason wasn't great with the cold and Eddie seemed tired. Mason glanced over at Eddie, still curious about his state, and said, "Maybe we should put a pin on it. Make plans for this weekend instead. Or if we all just want to make a pillow fort in one of the manor's living rooms for a movie night after the game, I'm good to do that."

It seemed like the game was almost over. It took Olivia a few practices and games to actually really learn the rules of football -- she just had never had a reason before to care -- but at this point Olivia could gauge as to how much longer a game would go on.
She was fidgeting by the edge of the bench where the cheerleaders sat for the game, ready to jump up and cheer at a moment's notice if something good happened with their team or perform one of their routines, trying to stay somewhat warm in her outfit. At this time, it even seemed the referee was trying to hurry up the game itself, and the cheerleaders appeared to have a decent break.
Olivia chatted with a couple of the other members of the cheer squad, her gaze roaming the stands all the while. She was getting better at recognizing people from her classes and dating prospects alike. As such, she grinned to herself when she saw Roy make his way towards the concessions stand for apparently one last snack for the remainder of the game.
Olivia slipped away from the rest of the cheer squad and made her way to Roy's side.
"Hey," she greeted. Wanting to tease him just a little, she added, "If the Mountain Hawks win, I think you should take me out to celebrate."

NOTES I'm good to wrap this up, too! Maybe Roy can respond once more and end the thread?

Tag: Mist/ Foxtrot, Incognito just to see Words: 290 Notes: Good to end this! Thanks guys! Roy wasn't truly upset at his friends' teasing -- embarrassed, to be sure, but he would like to think he knew Willow, Eddie, and Mason well enough by now -- but he was completely conscious of how red his face probably was.
Yeah, Olivia was pretty and he did consider her a friend. Somehow. He couldn't quite figure out when it shifted from her being an acquaintance to a friend, but he wasn't complaining.
Roy took a deep breath, staring at the menu of the concessions stand, and trying to figure out what to get (other than Willow's popcorn). He hadn't really a plan when coming down here other than to get away from the teasing and let his friends calm down.
As if summoned by the wayward conversation that Roy and his friends just had, Olivia actually caught up with him at the concessions stand, and Roy greeted her with a smile. Before he could get a word in, Olivia boldly mentioned that Roy should take her out to celebrate if the Mountain Hawks win, and Roy vaguely wondered if some divine being was laughing at him.
Roy could feel a flush crawling up his cheeks again but, honestly, this was the perfect opportunity to just go with the flow and take the chance.
Glancing at the scoreboard and seeing the lead the Mountain Hawks had, he said, "Considering the score, guess I'll save my money now. Does the Common Grounds Cafe sound alright to you? I'll meet you by the west entrance."
With that, he gave Olivia another smile and got Willow's popcorn before returning to his seats, mentally preparing himself for whatever teasing his friends would throw his way now that he had plans with Olivia after the game.
