Description: Eddie is of average height for a teen of his age, reaching about five feet and six inches. He may reach a few inches past six feet before he finishes growing. Due to always moving, he has a lean, muscular body, one that's fairly tan from enjoying the outdoors. He has dark brown hair, just long enough to get a ruffle from the wind, and green eyes. He tends to dress in casual, easy-moving clothes, but isn't opposed to getting dressed up with a suit and tie. Eddie also favors hats, especially fedoras.
Personality: Eddie is the type of teenager to always grant a mischievous grin to anyone he meets. He's friendly and open-minded, doing his best to never judge anyone by their first looks or actions, and always stands up for others. At times, he can seem a little naive upon a first meeting, yet if someone had decided to wrong him or do something he disagrees with, his guard will build up. He does his best to give second, sometimes even third, chances to people, believing that everyone inwardly wants to improve themselves. Eddie can have a strong personality and is sometimes a bit too forward with people, but it also means that he's courageous and does not back down from a challenge. He's a bit of a flirt and romanticist, and likes teasing anyone that he finds mildly attractive, but he's also loyal to those that he's close to. Overall, Eddie makes a good friend to all, even if he can be overprotective.
Powers: Eddie is an audiokinetic, meaning he is able to use sound waves for offensive and defensive purposes. He is able to project the sound waves as well as focus the energy around his hands and body when he uses melee attacks, such as punches and kicks, to increase his strength. The volume of music does not matter in regards to him using his abilities -- as long as he can hear it, even through headphones, Eddie can use his powers. The sound waves are visible, usually a golden or blue-purple hue, when he concentrates and manipulates the sound waves for his attacks.
He can generally control the sound waves enough to make sweeping arcs, scattershots, or short hand blasts. Big claps of his hands may also create small sonic booms, which may grow in power as he gets older and a better hand on his abilities. As his control on his powers increase, he may eventually be able to control the tempo of the sound waves enough to give them a hypnotic lull, such as putting his opponents to sleep, charming them, or giving them small suggestions.
A minor part of his mutation is that he has stronger hearing. The more he concentrates, the more he can hear sounds that are farther away. He may or may not have a bad habit of eavesdropping due to this.
Weaknesses: Eddie cannot use his own voice or singing with his powers -- the music must be an outside source. The volume of the music seems to be connected to his powers as well. While Eddie can pull and manipulate sounds even from his headphones, the louder the music, the more powerful his attacks. However, the more powerful his attacks, the more energy he uses, and the easier it will be for him to become tired.
If he meets any mutants with the ability to nullify sounds or manipulate silence, Eddie's abilities will do him no good.
Skills/Hobbies: Paired with his abilities, Eddie is gifted in dancing and singing. He quite likes serenading his friends (which is all the more enjoyable to him if his friends get embarrassed, but it's all in good fun), and he's proficient in playing many instruments, with some of his favorites being the guitar, the piano, and the violin. He also enjoys strategy games, such as chess or RPG video games, and loves the stories of wars, be they true from history or fantastic tales of medieval knights and dragons.
History: Eddie was born to Mitchel and Clair Ross. He had always had an affinity to music, growing up with his mother being the music teacher at the local middle school and his father being a semi-famous, local DJ for the city's nightlife. The family were comfortable together, until Eddie was about six years old. On their way home after one of their date nights, Mr. and Mrs. Ross were killed in a car accident.
Eddie was then raised by his paternal grandparents, Grant and Alexandra Ross. While they loved their grandson, they were of the stricter sort of grandparents, opting to raise Eddie with their church teachings. Eddie was compliant with his grandparents' wishes, going to church in a suit and tie, and was able to continue growing with the music from his parents. He struck deals with his grandparents, learning to play instruments and joining the church choir, as long as he could also listen to whatever he wanted on his iPod, even if they weren't too thrilled with most of the party-like music. Nevertheless, the little family got along, even if there were differences to their generations that they all needed to work out.
When Eddie was about fourteen years old, his mutant gene began to show. During a school dance, Eddie was on the dance floor with a group of friends when he noticed a distant classmate harassing a girl to dance with him when she clearly wished not to. Eddie went over there to try to quell the raising argument, to get the pushy classmate to back off, but the classmate was not hearing it. His ability, triggering with the tension and the pop music, emerged and pushed the classmate across the gymnasium and into the snack table. A fight erupted between the groups of students, and many of them, Eddie included, were suspended. Since then, Eddie has been very careful, not entirely sure what happened, but knowing that the music may have been part of it.
Per his grandparents' wishes, Eddie had been doing his best to curb his music enthusiasm for a year or two. However, he loved it too much to not let it show once in a while. Eventually, someone from a group called the X-Men gave his grandparents and him a house call, recruiting Eddie to the Xavier Institute. While at the manor, Eddie is eager to grow with his powers and find his place in the world.
Ya know, even if he does still have to do homework.
First Appearance Scene: Perhaps he can just be arriving at the manor? I imagine he would love a tour around either the mansion or Bayville itself.
