Description: Olivia is a willowy, lean young woman, and is of average height, around five feet and five inches. She walks with her head held high and firm steps to show everyone that she is in control of herself and her surroundings. A smirk or a disarming smile is usually on her face. She has dark features -- brown eyes, almost-black hair, tanned skin -- which she plays up with her favorite make-up. Her clothes tend to be of the high designer end if she did not make or modify them herself.
Personality: Olivia probably would describe herself as calculating and charming, a delinquent perfectionist when it comes to her life. She seems to always have a motive for every move she makes, despite the trouble she may cause. Intelligent, she does well at her studies even if it doesn't appear as if she is paying attention to them. She has no problem speaking her mind, but she is talented at sugarcoating her words to those in the position of authority, usually able to keep herself out of trouble. Olivia enjoys pushing her limits and taking challenges, such as taking her classes at school or seeing how many packs of bubblegum she can shoplift from the local convenience store. When she's new to a place, she does her best to figure out everything that makes the place tick, the people included.
She's loyal to her friends to a certain degree. However, if a better opportunity comes up for her in the long run, she'll probably grab it when she has the chance, having learned while growing up that it was always best to look out for yourself first. While looking out for oneself isn't necessarily bad, genuine friends may be able to break her of the habit of leaving others behind in the dust.
Powers: Olivia's powers are best described as air mimicry. She can transform her body into a mist-like vapor, allowing her to float in the air and become nearly invisible. Her entire being transforms into this mist, which makes it difficult for her to be harmed by direct attacks while in this form. While also in this form, she does not need to breathe no matter the atmospheric pressure. As a vapor, she can slip through cracks, such as under doors or slightly opened windows. Minor side effects of this ability are enhanced reflexes and dexterity, even while she is not in vapor form.
Weaknesses: While as a vapor, Olivia can float to a certain degree, and usually does not fly any higher than the standard telephone pole. However, it is simple for her to be blasted away by a strong gust of wind. She has some control over where she goes and how she lands, but she does not have the control of the speed, and she does fear the wind accidentally scattering her away. She also cannot transform underwater. The fluidity does not allow her to concentrate enough to do so, and she cannot guarantee that her ability to breathe anywhere in the air includes the atmospheric pressure underwater.
Skills/Hobbies: As previously stated, Olivia has enhanced reflexes and dexterity even when not in vapor form. They are only as better as a regular human that routinely works out, such as a gymnast, but they do give her a bit of an advantage. She is also a decent strategist, enjoying mind games and puzzles, and tends to be found reading historical novels and books. She's also interested in fashion and is gifted with using a sewing machine in making clothes and accessories.
History: Olivia grew up with only a mother, a one Dorothy Nolan. According to Dorothy, Olivia's father Thomas had abruptly died a few months after their wedding, supposedly from an allergic reaction to something he ate. As his widow and with no will, all of Thomas's assets were bestowed to Dorothy. Dorothy, having grown up in the slums of New York City, considered it a blessing in disguise to inherit Thomas's millions upon his death.
Olivia has the suspicion that her mother had poisoned Thomas herself for the money, but Olivia had grown up comfortably and wasn't going to question the demise of a father she never knew.
Olivia had grown up in the city, nearly raising herself with the aid of some hired help, and doing much of whatever she wanted. Her mother did teach her how important it was to hold her own and appear to always be in control of her surroundings, and Olivia took that lesson to heart. She started planning and calculating her moves as young as junior high. She never had close friends, but lackeys that were okay with following around the Queen Bee. However, in the first few years of high school, Olivia's following began slipping, and she turned to other ways to keep control of her life.
Dorothy looked the other way whenever Olivia suddenly had a new bracelet or hair clip.
Olivia's life began to be even simpler when her mutant abilities first began to merge at the age of thirteen. She was able to slip away and disappear from mall security when she had "accidentally" picked up a new make-up kit she had had her eye on for months, misting out of the store. She used her new-found abilities to improve her social standing in high school as well, loving the way that her misting allowed her to eavesdrop and gain the newest gossip and secrets to use against her school enemies.
Eventually, however, her classmates got suspicious and, with the mutant-hype in the air, Olivia found herself with even more dangerous enemies. She took it as a challenge, but she was getting in over her head. Her mother didn't pay much attention to her, steadfastly ignoring the rumors about her baby girl and paying off those that she couldn't ignore, and Olivia was on her own for the most part.
Unfortunately for Olivia, at the cusp of the start of her junior year, Dorothy was getting rather tired of paying off others to look away from her delinquent daughter's abilities. Olivia realized that her mother had been researching different types of schools to send her off only when Dorothy told Olivia the night before to pack up, for she was being sent to the Brotherhood Boarding House in Bayville. Olivia wasn't thrilled with the idea of being shipped off at all and is not certain about her place in the new city.
First Appearance Scene: I'm thinking the first thread could just be Olivia arriving at the Brotherhood house? Otherwise, a thread out and about town would be cool, with Olivia exploring Bayville for the first time.
