The late summer sun still lent some light to the evening time, but there were enough shadows in the dusk so it didn't look too odd for some teenagers to be loitering on the edges of the high school's property. It was the day before school starts, after all. If anyone asked, they were just eager to start the new school year.
Dylan scoffed at the thought.
He did well in school, but if anyone thought he would be eager to return, then they didn't know him at all. He didn't hate high school, and even figured he'd be a little sad when he graduated, but he was always looking for ways to spice it up. Considering his senior year also had a brand new principal, well...
It was like the fates were practically begging him to come up with some sort of prank to ring in the new school year.
Dylan had a couple of ideas, but nothing was finalized just yet. He had sent out a mass text to the other students he had in his contacts, inviting everyone to invite any other students they had wanted, and he was waiting to see who would have the guts to show up to start the school year off right. The text message had come from an unknown number. Olivia hadn't thought too much of it other than finding it intriguing. An invite to properly celebrate the start of the new school year the evening before school started sounded like someone trying to throw a party, but the time and meeting place seemed odd.
Olivia of course decided to go, leaving the Brotherhood Boarding House on her own with a cryptic, "I'm going out," to any of her housemates that may have heard her leaving. She wasn't sure if Adam or Laurie had also gotten the text and if they would have responded in the same manner she was. She figured they could make their own decisions if the text had also reached their phones.
She was dressed in casual, dark clothes, easy to move in but stylish enough to be acceptable if this was some sort of party. The bonfire hadn't been too bad a couple of weeks ago, but if she wanted to continue climbing the social ladder at Bayville High, she should make as many appearances as possible.
Color her surprised when she spied just another student milling about the outside of the high school. What was this really about?
Feeling bold, Olivia walked up to him and showed him the text she had received. "This from you?" she asked, her tone casual rather than accusatory. "What's going on?"

She had gotten a text stating that some students were going to meet outside of the high school that night for a little celebration about the new school year sounded fun, so Willow decided to show up.
She probably should have mentioned to someone at the Xavier Institute where she was going, but she had been so excited that she had forgotten. Whoops. Maybe a housemate or two of hers had also gotten the invitation and would show up.
Willow wasn't quite expecting the meeting place and seeing the few other students milling about, but it didn't deter her. "Hello," Willow said to the others as she caught up. She noticed the dark-haired girl showing her own phone, so Willow asked, "Do we need to show the invitation we got?" and showed her own version of the text she had received.

It was somewhat of a tradition to do something to Bayville High right before the new school year started, and Andrew was looking forward to it. When he got the text that it was time to figure out the latest prank to the high school, Andrew was ready and very much willing to show up to the scene.
He was delightfully surprised to see Olivia there as well as another young lady who seemed adorably enthusiastic for the evening's festivities.
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen," Andrew said as a greeting, sidling towards the little group. He nodded to Dylan before turning his attention to the young women. To Olivia, he said, "We've met before and it's wonderful to see you again. I don't believe we have met, though," he added directly to the younger girl. Reaching out for a handshake, Andrew smiled and said, "Andrew Harvey. It's a pleasure."
Andrew imagined there would be a few other students trickling in for their plan, but he did look to Dylan and ask, "Do we have a plan for this year?"

There were some of the usual faces, particularly the Andrew kid a year behind him, but there were a few new faces here and there. One of the first to show up, a dark-featured girl, came right up to him and showed him the text, demanding to know what it was all about. Before Dylan could answer, another newbie, a shorter girl who barely looked old enough to go to the high school, came up to them as well. He figured she went to Bayville High since she got the text, mentally shrugging away his confusion.
"The invitation is regarding what we're planning on doing tonight," Dylan said. "It's tradition. We cause just a little ruckus, a harmless prank, if you will, to welcome in the new school year.
"One year we put chickens in the gym," he continued. "Another year we zip-tied a random selection of lockers in each hallway." Since Andrew asked, Dylan added, "I have a few ideas, but I'm open to suggestions." ( Mist, Critter, Andrew Harvey, open)

A prank? That's what this was for? Olivia pursed her lips, wondering if this would be worth her night, but she supposed there was a decent handful of other students around who were willing to do this as well. If the right circles of the student body were in on this, then perhaps it would be a decent leg up in the school's hierarchy for her.
She almost changed her mind when an obvious freshman joined them, showing off her own text. But, hey, the guy in charge didn't seem to care, and neither did the Andrew kid when he showed up.
Alright, at least Olivia knew Andrew (sort of) and he seemed to find this to be completely normal. Andrew greeted her, introduced himself to the kids that were new to him, and looked at the guy who was in charge.
"You didn't introduce yourself," Olivia said to the one that Andrew looked towards. "That's usually the polite thing to do, like what Andrew here did. I'm Olivia Nolen."
She was baffled at the detail about the chickens and decided not to ask any further questions on that. "I'm new to the high school," Olivia said with a shrug. "I don't have any ideas as to what we could do to this place."

"I'm Willow Foster, an incoming freshman. Like Olivia, I'm also new, so I really don't know what's happening right now."
The one who seemed to be in charge -- and was totally called out by Olivia for not introducing himself -- gave some sort of an explanation as to what they were doing. Willow's stomach gave an odd twist when it became apparent that they were there to do some sort of prank on the school, and it gave another twist when this seemed to be such a casual thing to Andrew and the other guys.
If it was a harmless prank, then there really shouldn't be anything to worry about (and she totally giggled at the idea of chickens running amok in the gym). Otherwise, though...
Well. She lived with the principal.
Still, if this was something of a tradition, then the pranks should be simple, funny, and no one really got into trouble, she was sure.
Willow took a deep breath. "Do we have any supplies with us that we could work with?" she asked. She knew she didn't bring anything.

Andrew tried not to laugh when Olivia called Dylan out for not introducing himself. Andrew hoped he himself got some brownie points from Olivia for evidently demonstrating what a gentleman did when meeting new people.
And getting brownie points with Olivia would be fantastic because she was still very easy on the eyes, but Andrew definitely acknowledged that Willow was adorable. The little freshman had enthusiastically introduced herself to him (and, okay, he supposed the group) and she giggled at the idea of chickens being in the school.
Andrew hoped he could get a couple of phone numbers out of this little outing.
"I got some ideas," Andrew said. "We got a new principal, so we could make her feel welcome and do some... redecorating in her office." He pulled his backpack off, showing a packet of balloons and an industrial-sized stack of post-it notes.
Eager to show off, Andrew said, "I'm also game to do something a little more devious, of course. I highly doubt the network's security has been upgraded."

Dylan blinked when one of the new faces called him out for not introducing himself. He ignored Andrew's almost-laugh at it and said, "Dylan Fuller. Senior this year, so this will be my last hurrah."
Andrew had a couple of ideas and reminded Dylan that there was a new principal in the office. "That's right," he said thoughtfully, and Andrew even mentioned doing something with the school's network. To Andrew, Dylan said, "I'll leave that up to you. If you get a chance and want to take that risk, go for it. Meanwhile, though..."
Dylan glanced around at the group there. "We probably have enough muscle here. To go with the new staff members at the school, I think we should do a little rearranging. The library and cafeteria are on the same floor, not too far away from each other, so let's switch the tables and chairs in the two rooms. If we have the time, maybe we'll switch the furniture in some of the other rooms, too."
As he spoke, he led the way around the school, ducking around the main building to a side entrance and began to attempt to pick the lock of the door. ( Mist Critter Andrew Harvey open!)

Ugh, they were going to do physical labor? Olivia didn't quite want to sign up for something like this, especially in one of her good outfits, but she was here and was going to go through with it. Even the little freshman with them didn't seem to mind their plans, having asked about supplies for whatever they were going to do. Olivia supposed she could move a chair or two around to be a good sport.
Besides, maybe she could slip away and explore the school a bit more without the lights on. No one, including the principal, would be the wiser.
"Alright, I'm in," Olivia said, game to follow the crowd for the moment. She did glance at Andrew and curiously asked, "What would you do with the network?"
Knowing someone that was handy with computers would be excellent in this day and age.
The little group made it around the side of the main building, finding a door and Olivia was on the lookout for cameras. She was sure there was some around and, despite Andrew's claims, there was no telling what the security system was like. Dylan was fiddling with the door's lock and, after waiting for a few seconds, Olivia tapped his arm and waved him away.
"Move," she said before taking the crude tools he was using and adding a couple of bobby pins to the mix. Within a moment, Olivia had unlocked the door for everyone.

Tag: Andrew Harvey Mist Gigabyte:fuller Words: 238 Willow wasn't sure if the butterflies in her stomach were from apprehension or excitement. Probably a mix of both, if she were honest with herself.
She was going to be in so much trouble if it was found out she was skulking around the school and participating in whatever prank they ended up doing... But she didn't want to miss out on anything.
"I'd be careful with the network," she said after the introductions were all done. With a small grin, Willow added, "I know the principal. She's... very good with networks and computers and stuff."
She didn't want to say too much, mostly because she didn't want the others to think she was a liability and kick her out. She tagged along as they went to the side entrance, gave a quiet praise to Olivia for opening the side door -- it was impressive even if lockpicking wasn't the type of skill that people should be proud of -- and went into the building with the rest of them.
The hallways were dim, and Willow looked up to try to spot any of the security cameras. She went to the side of the hallway, intending on hiding if she could, and kept her steps light. She didn't mind Dylan's idea at all. It sounded simple, would probably be done within an hour, and was harmless.
"Where do we start?" Willow asked when they appeared to be near the library.

Andrew nodded along with Dylan's idea of switching the furniture between a couple of the main rooms in the administrator building. "A healthy dose of confusion for the first day of school, I like it," he said.
He had no problem helping to lead the way to the school's side entrance, but he did cast a pleasantly surprised smile over at Willow when she mentioned the network. "We have an insider with the principal?" He chuckled. "No worries, I have yet to find someone who can best me when it comes to computer networks."
Now he really needed to do something with the computers to impress the pretty ladies. Maybe he'll take the opportunity to mess with the few student computers in the library. Dylan mentioned their group had enough muscle, but Andrew wasn't the type to be very helpful in moving anything too heavy.
Speaking of impressing others and the pretty ladies, Andrew couldn't help but give a low whistle when Olivia all but pushed Dylan aside to effectively pick the lock on the door. Grinning at her, Andrew said, "I feel like I need to unlock more of your backstory. What caused you to learn how to do that?"
When the group was by the rooms they were targeting, Andrew looked to Dylan and asked, "We switching everything that matches? Chair for chair, table for table? Think we can move some of the vending machines into the library and move some bookcases into the cafeteria?"

Dylan was only half-listening when the freshman mentioned a few tidbits about the new principal. Considering it was his last year at the high school, he would just let Andrew handle the principal if he really wanted.
The senior raised an eyebrow as Olivia all but pushed him aside and deftly picked the lock much faster than he would have. "Very nice," he said, not bothering to hide his impressed tone.
He led the way through the dim hallways, moving in a practiced manner to avoid where he knew the security cameras were. Granted, if the new principal was as good with the network and security as Willow had mentioned, then there may be new cameras, updated security measures, and they could all be caught soon enough anyway.
"Table for table, chair for chair," Dylan said, nodding to Andrew's words. He grinned when Andrew mentioned vending machines themselves and he added, "Eh, we'll see how we feel. Hey, if you want to go and play around with the network when we're done switching stuff up, go for it."
With that said, he began directing the group with switching the furniture, coordinating everyone to get the stuff switched as quickly as possible. ( Mist Critter Andrew Harvey)

She wasn't going to lie, it was a little amusing to hear the praise come from the others when Olivia had picked the lock. Andrew in particular had asked Olivia about how she learned her lockpicking tricks, and she merely smiled, held a finger to her lips, and winked.
She really only knew how to pick locks by growing up as a delinquent whose mother didn't care one whit about what she did, but she controlled how Bayville High viewed her. Having a mysterious background could make her intriguing to the right people.
She still wasn't thrilled with the idea of physical labor, but Olivia did team up with a couple of the others to move a few chairs and switch a table or two. It wasn't too bad, and it allowed her a different view of the school aside from the brief, unofficial tour she had gotten a month ago.
Vaguely, she wondered if the janitors had their own offices.
Olivia moved another chair from the cafeteria to the library but, instead of getting the appropriate chair from the library to swap it with, slipped out of the library and quietly went further down one of the dimmer hallways.
She transformed into mist and floated down the hallway, wanting to explore just a little more to see if there was anything else worthy of her attention in the school at this time.

On that note, Willow wondered if Sierra herself was out as a mutant when it came to the school board and whoever had hired her for the principal position. Would it be rude to ask?
Willow's attention was snagged when Dylan took charge, directing herself and the others when it came to switching all of the furniture. Willow did her part without complaints, moving around a couple of chairs and helping to switch a table or two when she was needed. Eventually, she was moving one of the smaller, four-person tables with Andrew.
When the pair put it down in the library in a spot that used to have a library table, Willow glanced at the rows of computers for student use and asked curiously, "What could you do with the network and computers?"
