Mutants.
The world knows evolution has leaped forward, and knows that mutants exist. Fifteen years have passed since Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr created the X-Men and the Brotherhood, both in hopes of helping mutant kind, but with vastly different approaches. Xavier and Lehnsherr have since disappeared among the controversies regarding mutants and their place in the world. The X-Men are struggling to stand firm in their place in a world that does not know what to do with their kind.
Both the X-Men and the Brotherhood were doing their best to protect their way of life, both from each other and from the humans they either strive to protect or destroy. However, with the disappearance of their leaders, the X-Men and the Brotherhood collapsed, with members scattering to live according to the morals and teachings they had grown up knowing.
A few former students reopened the Xavier Institute for any and all young mutants who need a home and a family. Aiming to continue Professor Xavier's teachings, the X-Men seek out new recruits that may need help controlling their growing powers. The Brotherhood House has also opened its doors again, with a former member playing the role of landlord for out mutants who may need a place, regardless of their feelings toward humans. Other mutants are stuck in the middle, while humans only have their emotions and opinions to help them against the mutants.

More mutants are rising from the shadows, their powers surging the war with humanity to the brink. The question for these mutants, when their power may tip the balance scales, is what side will they choose?
With typically bi-monthly new episodes and plots for threads to focus on, Power Surge aims to be an inclusive RP for all who share a love of the X-Men. The cartoon "X-Men: Evolution" show is the main influence and inspiration for our site, keeping the cast of characters tight-knit with members' characters being on the front lines. The only NPCs, so to speak, are those played by the staff members to help round out members' characters' stories (and to, of course, stir up a little trouble). Original characters are encouraged and preferred as we explore and continue to shape a world that was created twenty years ago.
Your admin for this RP forum are Nightcrawler and Gigabyte, with Mist and Iceman playing the role of mods. Any and all of us -- and our other awesome members -- are always willing to help and answer any questions.
