Description: Bobby has grown since his teenage years at the Xavier Institute. He reaches about five feet 10 inches, finding it delightful that he is now taller than a few of his older X-Men friends. He's lean in muscle stature and has fair skin to accompany his brown hair and light blue eyes. His clothing style is both comfortable and active, with jeans, sneakers, t-shirts, and hoodies taking up most of his closet.
Personality: Bobby is the type of guy to wear his heart on his sleeve and is extremely honest. He's one to always share his thoughts and emotions on a subject, even if it may get him into trouble. He feels no shame in speaking his mind. Although he's generally well-liked, his inability to tactfully hide his emotions may sometimes make him seem moody, which pushes people away.
One of this young man's most defining traits is his good sense of humor. Bobby had grown up with a contagious enthusiasm for new people and ideas, and it has served him well in snagging many friends and more than a few nice dates. Acquaintances and some outsiders may even go so far as to call him immature due to his puppy-dog eagerness and his whimsy playfulness. He can be pretty charming, if he may say so himself, and has definitely been called flirtatious on occasion. Although the majority of his dates and relationships have been with women, Bobby is slowly coming to terms with his bisexuality.
Brave and courageous to a fault, Bobby will undoubtedly be on the front lines facing any sort of physical danger. He is also highly protective of those he views as friends and family. He has no problems threatening or even engaging in physical confrontations with others who may insult or hurt those he cares about. With these traits, he has some skill in the leadership department and, while he has no problem following someone else, will take up the role of leader if needed.
Powers: Cryokinesis. Iceman has the innate ability to create and manipulate ice. He is able to instantly decrease the temperature of the water vapor in his immediate vicinity to freeze it to ice that will not break unless he wills it to. With this ability, he is able to construct a wide variety of ice structures, such as projectiles, walls, baseball bats, stairs, etc. With his cryokinesis, he is also able to move and lift ice at will, generally using this to create "ice slides" that allows him to travel through the air at great speeds.
Another major part of his abilities is his ice mimicry, enabling him to transform his body tissue into organic ice. This grants Iceman increased protection against opponents, excessive force, and projectiles. With this ability, he is able to "pad" his organic ice form with extra mass or ice adornments, such as spikes or shields. He is also able to heal or reconstruct any damaged part of his organic ice form with no permanent damage to himself, even in terms of melting. Generally, Iceman is able to stay "iced up" for about five to six hours before the strain of such a transformation begins to take its toll on him.
He is interested in furthering his studies regarding his powers and has been dabbling around with ways to make his abilities stronger, such as practicing making semi-sentient "minions" of ice.
Weaknesses: Although Iceman has trained with his abilities and grown with them extensively throughout the years, he still has his limits regarding his powers. The larger amount of ice he uses and creates while fighting, the more difficult it will be for him to control it all. Like normal ice, Iceman's ice can be melted and difficult to keep its original shape against extreme heat. As such, it can be more mentally and physically taxing for Iceman to create ice in dry, hot areas. Ice can also be shattered easily enough by vibrations, or sound-based attacks.
Skills/Hobbies: Besides his mutant powers, Bobby is also talented in hand-to-hand combat due to the training he received at the institute as a teenager. He's a bit of a math geek, having gone on to study accounting after graduating from Bayville High and the Xavier Institute, earning his degree in the subject. Mechanics is also a bit of a hobby for him, most likely having manifested from his fascination with the X-Jet back when he had been a new recruit himself.
History: Robert "Bobby" Drake hails from Port Washington, Long Island, New York, with his parents William and Madeline Drake. Bobby grew up well, always eager and enthusiastic when it came to learning about whatever he deemed to be cool at any present time.
Bobby's mutant abilities first appeared when he had been on a date in his early teens. A local bully interrupted the evening, prompting Bobby to accidentally freeze him when he was defending himself and his date. Shocked at what he had just done, Bobby ran from the scene and from the ensuing angry mob that had formed upon seeing what he had just done. Due to the mob, the sheriff locked Bobby up for "his own protection," and Bobby stayed in the cell until Professor Charles Xavier appeared.
Professor Xavier spoke with both Bobby and the boy's parents, telling them of his school for gifted youngsters in the form of mutants. It was decided that Bobby would go to the professor's school for his safety. Bobby's parents weren't the most supportive of Bobby's mutation, but over the years they have done their best to stay connected with their son even if they don't truly understand his kind.
At the Xavier Institute, Bobby found himself among other teens going through similar changes as he. He quickly demonstrated his enthusiasm when it came to his powers, the mansion, and anything new. He became the unofficial leader of that particular batch of new recruits with his infectious energy, even if some of his eagerness got the group into trouble on occasion.
Yet, both his leadership and power skills allowed Bobby to become an unofficial member of the X-Men whenever the older teens needed another pair of hands-on missions. He was ultimately the first of the new recruits to officially "graduate" to X-Men status a couple of years later.
Bobby stayed at the institute for a while, helping the X-Men, his former teachers, and the public whenever he was needed. At some point, however, many of the residents of the institute dispersed to lead their own lives, especially in the wake of Professor Xavier's disappearance. Bobby himself found that it was the perfect time to go to college and, with a promise to return, left to pursue his accounting degree.
About six years later, Bobby returned to the manor, hoping that there was still a place for him among familiar faces. He settled right back in, becoming a good friend and teacher to the new recruits and rekindling friendships with the few X-Men that had stuck around.
First Appearance Scene: Showing back up at the mansion, perhaps?
Other: Considering that he is canonically one of the strongest known mutants, I definitely dumbed down his powers for the site and for myself so it's a little easier to play him. Also because of his strong abilities, I feel as if the weakness section is a little lacking, but there's not much explanation needed for his weaknesses, hence the short paragraph. There is also a healthy mix of his Earth-616 persona in with what we know of his Evolution counterpart, so let me know if anything seems off!
